How the Lord of the Rings should have ended

In this clip, we learn that the Lord of the Rings COULD have been a 10 minute sprint rather than a 10 hour marathon if only Gandalf would have thought over the options a little better at the beginning. Obviously, the movies would not have been nearly so exciting, but it certainly would have been a much more logical course of action.
